To approach architecture in a more sustainable way, it is necessary to think about a circular building strategy. A system that gets its insights from nature, where waste doesn’t exist.
Buildings that age are partially or completely demolished in our society. The majority of the remaining materials are transported to landfill sites, which is a significant loss of material and energy.
In this research we are looking for a way to design building materials in such a way that re-use becomes possible and even evident. The current demolition strategy will be converted into a disassembly strategy.
This method requires a radical renewal of both the design process and the construction process. We need to think about how elements can be dismantled and re-used. My purpose is to develop a construction method that starts from a construction system that is light and can be assembled quickly.
